About Bimpe Ayoola
Founder, Avela Careers | Killam Scholar | Advocate for Sustainable Tech and Equitable Opportunity
Bimpe Ayoola is a computer scientist, educator, and advocate for socially responsible technology. She is currently a Killam Scholar and PhD candidate at Dalhousie University, where she designs tools and interventions that help software developers build systems aligned with values like privacy, equity, and inclusion.
She has received scholarships and funding, including the Killam Predoctoral Scholarship, the Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship, and multiple leadership awards. With over 9 years of experience, Bimpe has led projects across West Africa, the U.S., and Canada. She also teaches software project courses as a Sessional Instructor at Dalhousie.
In 2023, she became the first Nigerian featured in WISEatlantic’s Career Spotlight series, recognizing her contributions to equity and excellence in tech. In 2024, she was selected as a ComSciCon Fellow and now serves on the 2025 organizing committee.
Through Avela Careers, Bimpe has supported several professionals in transitioning into tech, winning scholarships, and navigating study abroad opportunities. Her platform focuses on practical support, professional storytelling, and access to global opportunities.
